
Life, by Okinawa.
In our pursuit of preconceived ideas on beauty, wellbeing and connection, we often lose the meaning of what it means to live in the moment.
We created “Life, by Okinawa”, an immersive digital journey that explores the experiences of three groups of travelers from around the world as they enjoy the islands and discover what life in Okinawa looks and feels like.
As we follow their adventure, we see how travelers’ view of the world evolves through the life-changing experience that is Okinawa’s unique culture.
On this project, alongside my awesome team I was oversight on the visual design including developing the lo-fi sketch prototypes, design principles, creative idea and supporting the team to develop the visual design assets.

Design Principles
Drawing on the research, collaboratively with the client we created a set of design principles. These principles ensured we had a collective goal and vision for the product; ensuring ongoing alignment.
Balanced energy & calmness
There is a certain energised calmness in Okinawa which we want to carry through in the design.
Layers of culture
There is so much more to Okinawa beyond the clear blue waters. The design should convey the richness and depth of the place.
Warm and welcoming
We want the audience to feel like they are immersed in the friendly culture of the Okinawa through careful selection of colours, imagery and iconography.
A touch of sophistication
Okinawa is not just another Hawaii or Bali wannabe. The campaign brand should be inspirational and well-crafted, but not exclusive or snobbish.
Secret waiting to be discovered
Create excitement by revealing the hidden surprises of Okinawa as the audience interact with elements of the website.
